This wonderful old Sampler Quilt, circa 1880-1910, features 25 different patterns framed by pale green sashing with peach square separations. It has a five-inch border on two sides and has been hand-quilted in a repeating shell pattern from border to border.
The back is a dark grey muslin that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent antique condition with one dark spot the size of a nickel on one light green border.
This lovely quilt is clean and soft and measures 66 inches by 74 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen bed.
