This Grandmother's Flower Garden Cutter Quilt, 1930s, is stunning with its red diamond borders around each large and colorful flower garden. It is beautifully pieced and meticulously hand-quilted in outlines of each of the thousands of hexagons that make up the quilt. The border of the quilt is scalloped, following the lines of the flower gardens.
The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
Ninety-percent of the quilt is in excellent condition, but unfortunately the quilt has suffered damage to two corners (on the top right and on the bottom left) - see photos -- which has left those corners in shreds (see photos). The binding in those two corners is gone, while in the rest of the quilt the binding shows beginning signs of fraying.
The quilt has been soaked, hand-washed and line-dried and it comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 66 inches by 91 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
