Rare Antique Turtle Quilt; 1920-1930s; Hand-Quilted (73x82 inches)

Each of the turtles in this early twentieth century Turtle Quilt (1920-1930s) has been pieced from six patches of red, yellow and blue fabric and meticulously hand-quilted in a twisted rope pattern in the sashing and four-sided border and in outlines of the patchwork in the turtles. The heads and tails of the turtles have also been hand-embroidered.

The back is off-white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent antique condition with no condition issues noted.

This unique quilt is clean and soft and measures 73 inches by 82 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen bed.
