This is essentially 1/3 of a Currants & Coxcomb Quilt from the 1880s. It was found exactly like it is being sold - as an irregularly shaped piece that is about 47 inches by 74 inches that has been cut from a larger quilt, most likely for crafting. The hand-quilting is exquisite and in double diagonals and diamonds.
What is left of this quilt is in good condition, with fabric loss in the red fabric, holes, and a few small tan marks. See photos.
The back is white cotton and the small amount of the green binding that is left in this remnant is in excellent condition and is not fraying. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
This irregularly shaped quilt remnant is clean, soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 47 inches by 74 inches at its largest point.
