Vintage Fence Row Cutter Quilt; 1890s; Crafting Quilt; hand-quilted (70" x 74")

This lovely old Fence Row Quilt has been intricately quilted in geometric patterns, double diagonals and in a modified braided rope pattern along the four-sided border.

The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.

The quilt is in poor or cutter condition. Though most of the quilt is intact, it unfortunately has several holes and fabric deterioration - mostly along the border, but also in spots in the middle of the quilt. It also has a very frayed binding. See photos.

The quilt has been soaked, hand-washed and line-dried and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 70 inches by 74 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
