Rare Antique Little Sawtooth Variation Quilt: 1880s; initialed "H"; hand-quilted (74x92 inches)

This Rare late 19th Century Little Sawtooth Variation Quilt, which is initialed "H", is exquisite. The hand-quilting is tiny and in diamonds, concentric circles, geometric patterns and outlines of the 1-inch triangles. There is a four-sided border quilted in diagonals.

The back is bright white cotton while the binding is red cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back in very tiny stitches. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent condition, with no condition issues noted.

This lovely quilt is clean and soft and measures 74 inches by 92 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen bed.
