This beautifully preserved vintage 1930s-1940s Arkansas Star or Snowball quilt has been hand pieced and hand quilted using a joyful mix of early 20th century cotton prints. Made with a charming assortment of 1930s and 1940s printed cottons, this quilt combines feedsack-style florals, small-scale geometrics, and cheerful novelty prints. The quilting is done entirely by hand, with soft, even stitches that outline the stars and form flower patterns in the white blocks.
The back is white cotton with a bright and lovely scalloped edge with yellow binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back.
