This is a vibrant 1930s–early 1940s Vintage Flower Medallion quilt top/summer coverlet and a wonderful example of Depression-era floral appliqué, which in this case is in a palette of hot pink, lavender, periwinkle blue, turquoise, and rich green on a soft natural cotton ground.
Entirely hand-appliquéd, the design features a bold central floral medallion with radiating stems, leaves, and blossoms. The top and bottom edges have been hemmed and the two sides are selvedge edges of the woven cotton so it could be (and may have been) used as a summer coverlet.
This vintage quilt top/summer coverlet is in excellent condition, with some light color transfer from the darker pink fabric to the natural ground. See photos.
