This is a beautiful antique mid-19th-century tulip appliqué quilt top, dating to approximately 1840–1860, featuring a bold medallion center surrounded by stylized tulips in classic early colors.
The design showcases large red tulips accented with yellow buds and elongated green stems, arranged around a central wreath medallion with a four-petal floral motif. The composition, color palette, and hand-cut appliqué are all characteristic of pre-Civil War American quilts.
Important: This listing is for a QUILT TOP ONLY. It has never been quilted or backed and remains an unfinished top, exactly as found.
The quilt top is in good condition with some fading of the fabrics as can be seen in the photos, along with age-related toning. See photos.
