This charming mid-century Rose Vine Quilt/Coverlet is dated 1951 and features vibrant red blossoms and soft blue flowers, all hand-appliquéd onto a creamy white ground. The quilting is in leaves and flower petals and a simple twisted rope design around the border. In addition to the hand-embroidered date, embroidery embellishes the flowers and vines.
The back is a cream/white cotton while the binding is deep red cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. This is a summer coverlet/quilt so there is no batting.
The quilt/coverlet is in very good vintage condition with overall fading of the fabrics and fraying to parts of the binding.
