This sweet vintage 1950-1960s child’s quilt is a delightful example of mid-century nursery textiles, featuring soft pink and white patchwork squares with hand embroidered children and animals (bunnies, mice, squirrels, kittens, roosters, puppies and birds). The hand-quilting is amazing and is in a twisted rope pattern along the four-sided pink border and in dense animal motifs in the pink blocks, including hand-quilted swans, a dolphin, a bunny, an elephant, a duck, a Scottie dog, and more. Someone clearly spent hours and hours making this little quilt.
The back is pink cotton as is the binding that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
The quilt has been freshly laundered and is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
