This is a beautiful Thousand Pyramids quilt top, pieced entirely from a lively assortment of vintage plaids, ginghams, and shirting fabrics, all likely repurposed from garments, giving it a deeply authentic Depression-era character. The quilt top has a two-sided border in small pink cotton blocks.
Fabrics: • Wide range of 1930s–1940s plaids, checks, and shirtings • Beautiful mix of pastels and saturated tones (teal, cherry red, soft yellow, pink, navy) • Strong visual movement created by the alternating light/dark triangle arrangement • Classic Thousand Pyramids pattern (Brackman #111a) • Off-white muslin ground providing contrast and cohesion
This top is in excellent vintage condition. Please note that it is a QUILT TOP ONLY and has no back, no batting and needs to be finished and quilted.
Details: • Size: 70” x 84” • Pattern: Thousand Pyramids (Triangles) • Date: Circa 1930s • Materials: Cotton (woven plaids, ginghams, shirtings, muslin) • Construction: Hand-and-machine-pieced • Condition: Quilt top only (unfinished)
The quilt top is from a smoke-free, pet-free home and is pictured on a queen-size bed.
