Vintage 1930s–1940s Triangle Tiles Quilt | Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted | Blue Border | 59” x 75”

This is a cheerful and graphic Triangle Tiles quilt dating to the 1930s–1940s and made from an assortment of Depression-era prints and solids. The triangle blocks create a patchwork of pinks, reds, purples, browns, grays, aquas, and florals with a vibrant cornflower-blue border framing the quilt.

It is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted with closely spaced, tiny stitched quilting in outlines of the patchwork. The fabrics include classic 1930s florals, novelty prints, plaids, shirtings, and solids, with several pieces displaying the soft sheen typical of polished cottons popular during the period. The back is a solid buttercream cotton that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with light, overall wear/minor fading. Please examine the photographs as they form an important part of the description. The quilt has been soaked, freshly hand washed and line dried, giving it a light, natural, sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
