What a sweet Pinwheel quilt dating to the 1920s. It is made of cheerful golden yellow and dusty blue pinwheels alternating with squares of yellow floral cotton. The yellow floral fabric has small pink, blue, and white flowers against a yellow background.
The quilt has been extensively hand quilted in outlines of the individual pinwheel pieces and in crosshatch and diagonal grids in the open areas and along the four-sided border.
The back is off-white/cream cotton while the binding is the yellow floral cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition with some age-related fading and softening of the fabrics consistent with a quilt approximately 100 years old. The quilt retains its attractive colors and displays beautifully. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
