This vintage Double Wedding Ring Quilt dating to the 1930s features hundreds of small, scrappy fabric pieces arranged in the traditional interlocking wedding ring pattern.
The rings include colorful florals, ginghams, plaids, stripes, polka dots, geometric prints, and novelty designs. Shades of blue, red, yellow, green, pink, lavender, burgundy, and orange are distributed throughout the rings against a soft cream-colored background.
The quilt is hand pieced and densely hand quilted, with quilting stitches following the curves of the rings and in complex geometric patterns in the open cream-white areas.
The back is a vibrant solid yellow cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
