Antique Crazy Quilt: Hand-Embroidered 1940s Cottagecore Decor (62x76 inches)

This Crazy Quilt, circa 1940s, is hand-embroidered and hand-pieced. While most crazy quilts are not quilted this one has been hand-quilted in black thread and small stitches through the body of the quilt.

The piecework is a combination of cottons, linens, satins, silk-acetates and acetates all of which are in excellent condition with the sole exception of a black silk-acetate in one corner that has experienced some shattering (see photos). The back is a blue cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The batting appears to be an 80-20 cotton/polyester mix that is lightweight.

It is in excellent overall condition with the shattering issue described above (and photographed), a 1-inch seam separation at the binding and a tan dot (the size of a marker tip) on one tan patch.

It measures 62 by 76 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It is shown on a queen-size bed.
