Antique Nine Patch Variation Quilt: 1860s-1880s; primitive quilt; 72"x82"

This is a wonderful Nine Patch Variation Quilt from the 1860s-1880s that has been hand-stitched and hand-quilted. The hand-quilting is in diagonals and entirely in black thread.

The back is plaid (tan and white) that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is medium weight.

The quilt is in good antique condition with age related issues, including a fraying binding, fabric loss/surface holes on both sides (see photos), and tiny, tan cotton-seed discolorations (see photos).

This beautiful, survivor quilt has been soaked and it is clean and soft. It measures 72 inches by 82 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
