This Crazy Quilt has a center hand-stitched flower in green and reds, all surrounded by velvets, cottons, linens, wools and taffetas. Each patch has been hand-embroidered, while the quilting (which is rare on a crazy quilt) is machine-stitched in outlines of the patchwork.
The back is a beautiful late 19 Century cotton with a combination floral/geometric pattern in tans and pinks. The binding is maroon/red cotton that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
In excellent antique condition with several spots of minor fabric loss - see photos.
The quilt is clean and soft and is from a smoke-free and pet-free home and measures 67" by 80". Shown on a queen-size bed.
