This little Bear Claw Quilt, circa 1900, has been entirely hand-pieced from a variety of double pinks, indigo shirting cottons and tan/cheddar prints. It was likely made from scrappy leftover fabrics as a first quilting effort by a young girl. There is no quilting and no batting.
The back fabrics are a blue checkerboard and a red polka dot which have been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding.
It is in very good antique condition with some seam separations and fading of the fabrics.
