This is a charming Wheel of Life Quilt, circa 1930s, made with more than 2,000 multicolored hexagons in gardens surrounded by white hexagons. It is in the family of quilt patterns as Grandmother's Flower Garden. The exacting hand-quilting is in a repeating diamond pattern throughout the quilt. All four sides are scalloped following the outlines of the gardens.

The back is white cotton while the binding is a very narrow sunny yellow cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

More than 95 percent of the quilt is in very good condition but around the sides at the borders there is extensive thinning and fabric loss - see photos. The binding is also very frayed. Due to these condition issues it is being listed as a cutter or crafter quilt, but it has plenty of life left as a quilt that can be enjoyed for its workmanship and displayed folded over a sofa or in a stack.

It is clean and soft and approximately 80 inches by 80 inches. From a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
