  • Details
Authentic late 19th century Frank Siddall’s Soap wooden shipping box, featuring its original Victorian chromolithograph advertising paper affixed to the interior lid. Dating to approximately 1885–1905, this piece is a wonderful survivor from the golden age of American soap and household advertising.

The interior illustration depicts a lively wash-day scene with period stoves, wash tubs, and bold advertising slogans such as “No Boiling or Scalding!” and “So Cheap!”—a fantastic example of Victorian marketing aimed at easing the labor of laundry day.

Constructed of solid pine with original nailed construction, this box shows honest wear, rich patina, and age-appropriate surface character. The interior paper remains legible and visually striking despite its age, with warm toning, light foxing, and edge wear consistent with over 120 years of history.
