  • Details
This exceptional 1940s vintage quilt features a classic eight-pointed star pattern, meticulously pieced from silk and rayon dress fabrics in vibrant plaids, stripes, and jewel tones. Crafted entirely by hand and carefully quilted through delicate luxury textiles, this is a rare and well-preserved example of a mid-20th-century American dress-fabric quilt.

Made during a time when fine garments were thoughtfully repurposed, this quilt reflects both thrift and artistry. The shimmering star points contrast beautifully against soft pastel cotton setting squares, creating a bold yet harmonious design that feels timeless and striking.

The back is printed cotton with a busy, multicolor novelty-style repeat, while the binding is ribbed cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back.

The quilt is in excellent condition with some spots of fading on one of the purple stars and along the binding.

The quilt measures 68 inches by 79 inches and comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. The quilt is pictured on a queen-size bed.
