Vintage 1940s Lone Star Quilt – Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted – Never-used condition - 78" x 94"

This striking vintage quilt features a bold eight-pointed Lone Star design, entirely hand pieced and hand quilted by a skilled mid-century, 1940-1950s quilter. The radiant star expands from a vibrant magenta center into turquoise, lavender, peach, and soft violet diamonds, all set against a pale yellow cotton ground.

Elegant hand quilting in flowing floral, geometric, diamond grids and arc motifs fill the background while along the border the quilt is quilted in diagonals.

The back is white cotton with some age toning, while the binding is coral pink cotton that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back in very tiny stitches. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent never-used vintage condition with some age toning on the back and several small toning marks on the front that would likely come out with a soak. Because it is in never-used, never washed condition, I did not soak or hand-wash this quilt.
