This beautiful vintage Diamond in a Square quilt dates to approximately 1930s to the 1940s and showcases classic American patchwork craftsmanship. Hand pieced and hand quilted, the quilt features cheerful pastel diamonds set within squares, surrounded by a soft solid pink background that highlights the delicate quilting stitches.
The fabrics include a charming mix of period cotton prints—small florals, ginghams, stripes, and novelty motifs consistent with Depression-era and 1930s feedsack textiles. The palette of aqua, butter yellow, pink, red, and blue gives the quilt a light, joyful feel. It has been hand-quilted in a variety of geometric patterns within the body of the quilt and in a graceful shell pattern along the four-sided pink border.
The back is pink cotton while the binding is a darker pink/coral that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
This quilt is in excellent vintage condition, with no issues noted.
