This Aunt Etta's Diamond Star Quilt is from a 1940s published pattern and has been beautifully executed in solid-color cottons dating to approximately 1940 to early 1950s. The color palette is classic mid-century: butter yellow, sky blue, deep blue, mint green, crisp white, and strong red. It has been hand-quilted in tiny stitches in outlines of the patchwork and, within the solid yellow spaces, in triangles.
The back is another bold color - lavender - that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no condition issues noted.
