This amazing Double Irish Chain Quilt comes from the collection of the American Folk Art Museum. It has an unusual ZigZag Border and has been quilted with the date "1892" in one corner (see photos). It has been quilted in quadruple shell patterns along the border and in double diagonals through the patchwork, with feather quilting in the large mahogany/brown areas.
The back is an off-white cotton with a green binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back.
It is in excellent antique condition with some discolorations as can be seen in the photos.
The quilt measures 65 inches by 91 inches and is clean and from a smoke-free, pet free home. It is shown on a queen size bed.
