This beautiful antique Basket Quilt dates to the 1930s–early 1940s and features an allover basket design in vibrant blue against a soft white ground. Each basket showcases delicate pastel florals typical of the Depression era, many likely repurposed from feed sack cottons.
The quilt is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, with elegant feathered wreaths, plumes, and crosshatching in tiny and precise stitching. The basket handles are hand-appliquéd with the same tiny stitches and there is a four-sided scalloped edge.
The back is white cotton as is the very narrow binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no condition issues noted.
