Antique Twinkling Star Quilt – Hand Quilted – Early 20th Century Star Quilt – 64” x 72”

This beautiful antique Twinkling Star quilt, dating to the turn of the 20th century (circa 1895–1915), showcases a lively field of star motifs of early indigo blues, soft greens, turkey red, gray-greens, and fugitive pinks, using period shirtings and small-scale prints typical of the era, all set against a white, dotted ground. The stars float gracefully across the surface, giving the quilt its classic “twinkling” appearance.

The quilting is tiny and precise and in varying sizes of diamond grids. The back is a cream/white cotton while the binding is black and white striped cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent antique condition with some overall fading, especially of the black and blue fabrics.
