Vintage 1940-1950s Japanese Lantern Quilt – Hand-Quilted - 72" x 90"

This vintage Lantern quilt is in unused, never laundered condition and has been kept in a cedar chest for decades thereby retaining the original crispness of the 1940s and 50s cotton fabrics and the original penciled quilting marks. The quilting is in geometric patterns, modified twisted ropes, shell grids, and outlines of the patchwork.

The back is a cream-white cotton back while the binding is pink cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent, never-used condition.
