Vintage Baby Quilt - 1940s/50s Anthropomorphic Teddy Bear - 37”x58”

This is a very sweet, hand-crafted baby quilt dating from the late 1940s to the early 1950s and featuring a charming "Anthropomorphic" teddy bear—a classic motif of the post-war era—sitting on a quilted pillow and playing with alphabet blocks and a rattle. The quilt is all cotton with the little teddy bear made of white cotton-flannel.

The center features "fan" or "radiating" hand-quilting lines and intricate flower vines, while the border is filled with beautiful "echo" floral and scroll stitching. The teddy bear, blue ribbon border, and floral accents are also meticulously hand-embroidered.

The back is white cotton while the quilt has been knife-edge finished with very tiny hand-stitches all around.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no condition issues noted.
