This is a vintage quilt top only, beautifully hand cross-stitched in the 1940s, and has never been quilted or finished. It features an elegant all-over floral vine design worked entirely in shades of blue on a creamy white cotton ground, with a framed border that has also been cross-stitched.
The stitching is meticulous and time-intensive, showcasing the kind of patient handwork that defined mid-20th-century needlecraft. This piece was clearly intended to be completed as a full quilt but remains an unfinished quilt top.
The quilt top is in excellent vintage condition with some minor color transfer - see photos.
