A beautifully preserved Depression-era Nine Patch on Point quilt, dating to approximately 1930–1940, and filled with charming period fabrics. It has been entirely hand-quilted in diagonal grids.
This quilt is a wonderful example of resourceful 1930s quilt-making, combining classic Nine Patch blocks with solid blue setting squares and a cheerful rose floral border. The palette of pinks, lavender, yellow, mint, and crisp blues is quintessential 1930s with feed sack cottons and small-scale florals.
The back is a cream/off-white cotton while the binding is a combination of a small paisley print and solid blue cotton both of which have been machine-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
