This is a striking Depression-era Winding Blades Quilt in bold two-color blue and white, dating to approximately 1935–1945. It is hand-pieced and hand-quilted and the quilting is spectacular, with complex and very dense feathers, feather wreaths, and tight diamond and diagonal grids, including along the two-sided blue and white border.
The back is white cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with some small areas of fabric loss in one of the winding blades - see photos.
