Vintage 1940s Hand-Embroidered & Hand-Quilted Baby Quilt – 33"x46"

This darling vintage baby quilt is a beautiful late 1940s - early 1950s handmade quilt with six hand-embroidered panels of whimsical animals—including elephants, lambs, and ponies. It features detailed hand-embroidery (French knots, stem stitches) and fine, detailed hand-quilting throughout.

The quilting is in pink thread and in a twisted rope pattern along the border and in a modified twisted rope/flower design around the embroidered animals. The pink corner blocks are quilted in flowers.

The back is blue cotton while the binding is pink cotton that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt has been freshly laundered and is in excellent vintage condition, with no issues noted.
