This is a beautiful 1930s Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt, featuring hundreds of scrappy hand-pieced hexagons set against a cheery "Maize Yellow" hexagon path—one of the most desirable setting colors of the era.
It includes a delightful set of fabrics, including rare novelty prints (the adorable lambs!) and airy florals typical of the pre-WWII textile boom. Every hexagon is meticulously hand-stitched, and the entire piece is finished with traditional "echo" hand-quilting that is meticulous and follows the shape of the flowers.
The back is light yellow cotton while the binding is yellow cotton that has been machine stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent condition and has been remarkably well-preserved. The colors remain bright with no significant fading. The binding is intact, and the hand-quilting is strong.
