A charming antique Single Irish Chain quilt dating to the Depression era, circa 1930s, the quilt has been beautifully hand pieced and hand quilted. This petite quilt was likely made as a crib or toddler quilt, and features a striking two-color design of bright turquoise blue squares with tiny white dots set against a soft white background.
Each alternating white block is hand-quilted with delicate spiral “snail shell” motifs, while curved quilting lines run through the chain blocks and the four-sided border is quilted in diagonals.
The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
