  • Details
This is a beautifully executed example of a Martha Washington's Flower Garden variation of a Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt, circa 1930-1940s. This less common variation of the flower garden layout uses an array of cheerful cottons and early feed sack fabrics. The hand-quilting is tiny and in outlines of the patchwork.

Each hexagon flower is thoughtfully arranged with a sunny yellow center, surrounded by vibrant petals in a wide range of colors—turquoise, lavender, pink, red, blue, and green—set against soft white grounds and framed by golden yellow joining paths that create the distinctive diamond lattice effect.

The back is white cotton while the binding is yellow cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no condition issues noted.
