This is an exceptional tiny Yoyo Doll Quilt with very tiny -- 1/2 inch -- yoyos. Created sometime in the Depression-era yo-yo quilt, the fabrics are feed sack prints: shirtings, and small-scale florals, all carefully stitched together without a backing (or batting) in the traditional yo-yo style. Specifically, the fabrics include: • Classic blue and white shirtings • Stripes, geometrics, and calico fragments
The incredibly fine scale of the yo-yos is unusual and demonstrates the skill and patience of the maker—this is far more intricate than most yo-yo quilts and likely served as a doll quilt or as a teaching textile for others.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
