This is a striking and graphic Depression-era red and cream/off-white quilt in the classic Quail’s Nest pattern, dating to the 1930s-1940s. The quilt is pieced from a cheerful small-scale red calico print, paired with soft white cotton. The hand-quilting is in cross-hatch and diagonal grids.
The back is off-white/cream cotton while the binding is a pink and red cotton print that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with some light color transfer. See photos.
