This Birds in the Air Quilt is circa 1930-1940s and has been nicely pieced and entirely hand-quilted in tiny stitches. The quilting is in diamonds, outlines of the patchwork and double diagonals. The top is made from a dark pink floral print and a light tan/beige print that appears white in the photos, but is striped and has faded over time.
The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent antique condition, with some fading of the fabrics, especially the light tan print.
This lovely quilt is clean and soft and measures 66 inches by 75 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed. CL0084
