Antique 1950s Cowboy Quilt Folk Art -- Ride ’Em Cowboy Hand Embroidered Quilt - 47" x 64"

This rare and wonderfully whimsical antique cowboy quilt is a piece of American folk art, featuring hand appliquéd and hand embroidered western scenes filled with charming personality and vibrant color. Dating to the 1950s, the quilt includes an appliquéd lasso cowboy on horseback, teepees, cactus, a campfire, western flowers, a bucking calf, and embroidered “Ride ’em Cowboy” lettering across the center.

The appliqué work is entirely hand done, with expressive embroidered details and hand-quilting throughout. The back is white cotton while the four-sided scalloped edge is bound by red binding that is hand stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition.
