Antique 1880s Conventional Tulip Quilt | Elegant Folk Art Floral Quilt | 84” x 88”

Softly elegant and unmistakably late 19th century, this beautiful antique Conventional Tulip Quilt features graceful scrolling tulip branches appliquéd across a creamy white ground in a refined and understated color palette of warm golden yellow tulips paired with taupe and beige foliage.

Dating to approximately the 1880s, the very fine hand quilting is in double diagonals and diamond grids. The back is ivory/cream cotton while the quilt is knife-edge finished and hand-stitched closed.

CONDITION:
This quilt is in excellent antique condition with light yellow color transfer in spots on the front and back. See photos. The quilt has been soaked and hand-washed and line-dried, giving a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
