This is a 1930s–1940s Double Wedding Ring quilt with a beautiful and expertly pieced mix of feedsack and period cotton prints. The fabrics include: * A wide variety of feedsack prints: florals, geometrics, novelty prints * Classic 1930s color palette: * Bubblegum pinks, turquoise blues, soft pastels * Pops of cheddar yellow, red, and black
With bright pink and blue four-patch connector blocks it remains vibrant and lovely. The expert hand-quilting is in outlines of the 1.5" by 2" patchwork that makes up the rings, and in double diagonals as well as flower/geometric patterns in the open white areas.
The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
