This delightful survivor from the Depression era measures approximately 14” x 30” and is the perfect size for use as a table runner, dresser scarf, sideboard accent, or display piece in a farmhouse or cottage interior. The hand quilting is in an all over crosshatch grid.
Made from late 1920s to early 1930s cotton prints, this small quilt in a Counterpane pattern features vibrant pink-red fabrics paired with soft celery-green prints, shirting blues, delicate floral sprays, and charming novelty fabrics. The fabrics have the bright colors and small-scale prints that became popular during the Depression era.
The back is a lovely gray-blue cotton printed with repeating pink motifs that has been turned to the front and hand stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
The quilt has been hand quilted throughout and displays the gentle wear, softness, and character that collectors appreciate in authentic vintage textiles. Whether displayed on a table, dresser, cupboard, or quilt rack, it brings a wonderful touch of early twentieth-century Americana to any space.
CONDITION: This little quilt is in very good vintage condition with some all over fading.
