Vintage 1940s Bedtime Crib Quilt | Hand Appliqué & Embroidery | Storytime Baby Quilt | 32” x 40”

This is a charming and unusual 1940s crib quilt featuring a hand appliquéd and embroidered bedtime scene. At the center, an embroidered child is tucked beneath an appliquéd floral quilt with embroidered details reading a book titled "Bed Time Stories." Embroidered floral sprays decorate each corner.

It is hand quilted in an allover crosshatch pattern in tiny stitches. The back is white cotton while the original binding has been replaced with a poly-cotton bright pink fabric that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. It is sturdy with bright colors. The binding has been replaced The quilt has been soaked, freshly hand washed, and line dried, giving it a light, natural, sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
