Vintage 1960s Double Wedding Ring Quilt – 75” x 98”

Such a lovely version of the Double Wedding Ring Quilt, this 1960s quilt is large - measuring 75” x 98” - and made from dozens of small scraps including florals, ginghams, plaids, stripes, novelty prints and geometrics in pink, blue, turquoise, green, yellow, red, purple, orange and brown. The mix of bright aqua, pink, lime, purple and graphic prints is a beautiful combination in this pattern.

Brown and yellow four-patch intersections give the quilt a distinctive look and create strong contrast against the white ground. The scalloped outer edge follows the curves of the Double Wedding Ring design on all four sides.

The hand quilting is in large floral motifs in the open white areas, triple outlines of the smaller white open areas, in double and single outlines of the tiny patchwork and - in the intersections - in repeating crosshatches..

The back is yellow cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. The fabrics remain colorful and the extensive hand quilting and shaped edges display beautifully. Please review all photographs closely for the most complete representation of condition.
