What a lovely 1930s Wheel of Mystery quilt featuring an intricate geometric design in soft pink and white cotton. The carefully pieced curved sections create an interlocking pattern of circles and pinwheel-like shapes that extends across the quilt.
The quilt is exceptionally well hand quilted, with closely spaced lines of stitching following the curved shapes of the pieced design. The dense quilting gives the cotton a wonderful texture and highlights the precision of the workmanship.
The four-sided very light pink border surrounds the patterned center and is finished with diagonal quilting. The soft pink and white color combination is characteristic of Depression-era quilts and gives the quilt a clean, classic appearance.
The back is white cotton while the binding is light pink cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition, particularly considering its age. The pink and white fabrics are well preserved, and the quilt retains its attractive texture and beautifully defined hand quilting. The pale pink binding is a later replacement and is in very good condition. Please examine the photographs as they form an important part of the description,
