Vintage 1940-1950s Ocean Waves Quilt – Hand Quilted – Jade Green and Scrappy Prints – 72” x 85”

This is a really beautiful Ocean Waves Quilt dating to the 1940s-1950s, featuring Depression-era cotton prints combined with solid jade green and white fabrics.

The traditional Ocean Waves pattern is constructed from numerous tiny (1.5 inch) triangles in an colorful floral, geometric, novelty, checked prints with the alternating solid green and white ground.

The hand quilting is exceptional, with elaborate feathered wreaths and floral designs within the solid green and white diamonds. The wide white border is also closely hand quilted with exquisite feather motifs.

The reverse is solid jade green while the binding is cream-ivory cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back.

CONDITION: The quilt is in very good vintage condition with old color transfer visible in areas of the lighter fabrics and the green fabric, including on the back. Otherwise, the quilt is exceptionally well preserved, with vibrant colors and beautiful hand quilting. Please carefully examine the photographs as they form an important part of the description.
