This vintage Lady of the Lake Quilt is a lovely example of the pattern also known as Old Maid's Ramble. It dates to the 1950s–1960s and features a striking geometric design in navy blue, bright red, and white.

The quilt is constructed from more than 1,000 pieced triangles arranged in repeating blocks that create an intricate secondary pattern of interconnecting triangles and pinwheels. The contrasting solid fabrics give the design a strong graphic appearance.

The hand-quilting is finely done in tiny stitches and in an allover diagonal grid through the pieced blocks and a rolling wave pattern along the four-sided border. The back is white cotton while the binding is red cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The batting is lightweight and thin.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. The piecing and hand quilting remain intact, and the colors are vibrant. Please examine the photographs as they form an important part of the description.
