This beautiful Strawberrie Quilt, circa 1930s, features a scrappy collection of feedsack fabrics. Each "Strawberrie" is made from curved melon pieces and triangle points that have been intricately quilted in diamonds and concentric geometric patterns. Scattered between the Strawberrie motifs are cheerful little four-patch circles in yellow, mint and aqua. The four-sided yellow border is quilted in a braided rope pattern.
The back is pale yellow cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in very good condition with age-related fading of the fabrics, two tiny (less than 1/8 inch) tan dots on the front and a fraying binding.
It is clean, very soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 76 inches by 95 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
